Owner-occupant financing does not require that the resident live in the property forever. One of the great opportunities especially for those who are wiling to move and who may have limited capital, is to buy a home with favorable owner-occupied financing and then later move and find a new duplicate opportunity. While there is a limit to the number of these kinds of purchases, even a few provide a leverage opportunity. When this is combined with the opportunity to fix-up or improve the property, the opportunity is even better.

In most cases, very favorable financing is available for first-time homebuyers and owner occupants. A great strategy is to buy a home with owner-occupant financing and then repeat the process in the future. A combination of wealth building strategies may be employed here. The first one, if often where the opportunity to buy a home, clean it and fix it up exists. By doing so, the value of the property may increase as well.

It is very feasible to double one’s equity when it is purchased with owner-occupied financing. By fixing up the property or in some cases simply because of appreciation, you can double the equity on a home.
