Karen was born and raised in Windward, Oahu. Her family is originally from Okinawa, Japan where she still has many relatives including her grandparents and aunties and uncles. She attended Kailua High School, and furthered her education at the University of Hawaii at Manoa where she earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate and Business Management. Karen began her career in the real estate industry as an Office Manager for a local real estate company. Concurrently, she returned to the University of Hawaii to attend the College of Business Administration’s Graduate Program where she obtained her Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
Karen obtained her real estate license during graduate school and has since successfully helped nearly 100 families buy and sell their home on Oahu. Karen’s commitment to her profession is evident in her many achievements in the real estate industry. She has been nominated for the prestigious Aloha Aina Award for People’s Choice and Realtor’s Choice. In addition, Karen continues to improve herself through education and has obtained several professional designations including her Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation and e-Professional (e-Pro) designation. Karen is currently working towards obtaining her Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) designation. She encompasses residential real estate in all areas of Oahu and is familiar with the different markets and neighborhoods.
Karen specializes in building relationships and understanding the needs of people. She is knowledgeable and well-educated in residential sales, negotiation, and marketing/advertising. Throughout her personal and professional life, Karen emphasizes commitment to excellence, open communication, patience, and caring. She continuously abides by her mission statement, which is:

In the course of obtaining her academic accomplishments, Karen worked for the University of Hawaii Board of Regents Office for four years. Karen was also an accomplished dancer and director for the University of Hawaii Rainbow Dancers; where she was actively involved in various athletic events, community and University related functions. In her free time Karen keeps active. If she is not spending time with her family, she is working out at the gym, bettering her golf swing, or perfecting her tennis back hand. On rainy days she enjoys the adventures and mysteries of a nice novel.
